Extra Guidance on AICIS Now Available

On July 1st, 2020, AICIS (Australia Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme) replaced NICNAS as the Australian regulator of the importation and manufacture of industrial chemicals or products releasing industrial chemicals for trade purposes in Australia. Chemicals importers or manufacturers must now check whether their industrial chemicals are listed in the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (the Inventory).
The listed chemicals are already available for industrial use in Australia, the non-listed entries must be classified into one of the following four categories:
